For the 2026/27 academic session, the Dalhousie University Scholarships will be coordinated via the Harmonized Scholarship portal.
Dalhousie continues to rank among the top 200 universities in the world that are making an impact in their communities and the world. The latest tally highlights the university’s strengths in supporting good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, and responsible consumption and production.
The Harmonized Scholarship Process allows you to apply for several Faculty of Graduate Studies-managed scholarships using a single online application. You are not required to be accepted into a Dalhousie graduate program to apply for these scholarships.
However, you must identify the graduate program you intend to apply for in your scholarship application to facilitate the review process. Scholarship offers are conditional upon your eventual acceptance into the program.
Dalhousie University International Scholarship Requirements:
To be considered for the Dalhousie University International Scholarship, you must:
- Be a domestic or international student
- Be applying to pursue a postgraduate Master’s or Doctoral degree at Dalhousie
- Apply for the respective scholarship of your eligibility before the deadline
- Be eligible to receive scholarship support for at least two years
- Meet the individual requirements of each scholarship

- Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship – $40,000 per year for up to two years
- Dalhousie Research Excellence Scholarship – $35,000 per year • Up to four years

- Killam Predoctoral Scholarship Level 1 (Master’s) – Up to $25,000 per year for up to two years, plus international tuition fees and relocation allowance, if applicable
- Killam Predoctoral Scholarship Level 2 (Doctoral) – Up to $42,000 per year for up to three years, plus President’s Award for up to two years and relocation allowance, if applicable
- Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship – $15,000 ($10,000 for Masters) per year for up to four years
- The Vitamin Scholarship – Doctoral – $21,000 per year for up to two years
- Scotia Scholars Award – $10,000/year (master’s) and $15,000/year (doctoral) • Up to 2 years (master’s) and up to 4 years (doctoral).
How To Apply for the 2026 Dalhousie University Scholarships Canada
To apply for the Dalhousie University Scholarships, you have to use the Harmonized Scholarship portal to;
- Log into the FGS Scholarship Management Platform.
- Create a new scholarship application by selecting “Create New…” and “Major Scholarship Competitions” OR edit an existing on by selecting from the “My Applications” list on your homepage.
- Select the application category which applies to you from one of the three options provided
- You are encouraged to complete the self-identification questionnaire found in the online scholarship platform.
- Click “Save and Next” at the bottom of each page to move through the application.
- You must upload official transcripts directly in the scholarship portal as referenced in the instructions found in the application.
- All reference assessments must be submitted to the portal before the application deadline.
- Agree to terms and conditions and click “Save and Finalize” to complete and submit the application.
- Interested and qualified candidates should click on the button below to commence their application.
